The Recipe For INSTANT Excellence
February 11th, 2008 · by Bob Meyer · No CommentsAlmost anyone can achieve excellence immediately—TODAY! What is the key? Make a conscious decision that you will do whatever it takes to be the best. Then, as of this second, quit doing less-than-excellent stuff.
Obviously, you’ll need to analyze your own situation, but here’s an example to give you an idea of what you’d do.
To make an analogy, let’s say you’re a waiter and you’ve decided to set a matchless standard for service. You just do it. NOW.
Sure, you’ll be a bit clumsy at first, and may get some things wrong. But by reading, listening to audio tapes, taking some classes, and visiting top restaurants (for clues) you’re on your way.
You’ll need to keep doing such things to maintain your edge (like an opera singer or professional athlete does) until the day you hang up your corkscrew.
Nevertheless, you can become excellent in a nanosecond, starting with your first guest tonight. Armed with resolve, picture yourself as the greatest waiter ever—and start acting accordingly.
Determination & Commitment Is The Key To Excellence
It takes but a flash (the understanding of this profound idea) to achieve change of even the most dramatic sort…
1. Make your decision to do it and not
to compromise, regardless of any
temporary roadblocks you run into.
2. Work like the devil!
3. Learn something new every day, and
4. Apply it through practice, awkward or not, every day.
